Arthur Schnitzler, famous Austrian Jewish writer, suffered a breakdown following the tragic death of his nineteen year old daughter Lilly, who was killed in an automobile accident in Venice.
Schnitzler has left Vienna for a long journey in an effort to regain his health. He is not expected to return before the end of the year. His daughter, who was married to an Italian officer, was buried in the Jewish cemetery of San Ricoco near Venice.
