A permit to allow the National Socialist White People’s party to hold a “white power” rally at a local high school open to “the general public excluding Negroes and Jews” has been cancelled by the Arlington County school board. Assistant Supt. Howard Bovee said that the party would be notified by registered mail of revocation of the permit and that its $50 deposit would not be returned. William Pierce, a party spokesman, said the neo-Nazi group would fight the revocation in court. He said he would ask the American Civil Liberties Union to seek an injunction to allow the party to carry out the rally on the planned date of March 7.
