The school, church and state have made little headway in the fight against prejudice because these bodies cannot offset the prejudice which children acquire in the home, the annual convention of the American Psychological Association was told this week-end. This conclusion was contained in a report by Dr. Gordon W. Allport, prominent Harvard University social psychologist, who received an award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues for his work in this field.

Rabbi Henry E. Kagan, spiritual leader of Sinai Temple, Mt. Vernon, New York, who is also a psychologist, reported on a study he made on changing the attitude of Christians toward Jews. His findings, he stated, were that there is no correlation between objective knowledge of a fact and tolerance. “Information does not reduce prejudice,” he asserted.
