A sculpture garden, featuring a group of four bronze figures by a famous Jewish sculptor, was officially dedicated here yesterday at the Jewish Museum. The figures, entitled “Procession,” are by Elbert Weinberg, and depict a procession dedicating the Torah scroll. One figure carries the Torah; two hold prayer books; and the fourth bears a Menorah.
Stanley M. Isaacs, Minority Leader of the Council of the City of New York; Dr. Alfred H. Barr, Jr., director of the Museum of Modern Art and Dr. Simon Greenberg, vice-chancellor of the Seminary, delivered the major addresses. Councilman Isaacs paid tribute to Felix M. Warburg, whose former residence is The Jewish Museum. “Warburg,” he stated, “was the finest example of the American Jew, embodying both loyalty to the Jewish faith and to the American way of life.”
