Brigadier Yaacov Dori, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, warned last night of the existence of a serious threat of a second round of war with the Arabs. He urged Israelis to enroll in maximum numbers in the reserve army.
(King Abdullah of Transjordan was quoted in an Amman dispatch to the New York Times today as stating that he would welcome expulsion from the Arab League, if the League attempted to prevent him from annexing the non-Israel Palestine to Transjordan.)
Nine military ceremonies were held in various parts of the country this week-end as the Israel Army, Navy and Air Force honored their fallon heroes. In cities, towns and settlements–from Rosh Pina, in the north, to Jerusalem, in the center, to Kfar Warburg, in the south, military parades and special services in war cemeteries marked the day of mourning. The families of many of the war dead were present at the ceremonies.
