Secret archives of the Warsaw Ghetto dating to the immediate period before the uprising in 1943 have been unearthed by construction workers and are now being examined by the Jewish Institute of History, a Warsaw dispatch to the London News-Chronicle said today.

The documents, found in two sealed milk cans, are written in Yiddish, German and Polish and are estimated to total 40 percent of the entire underground ghetto archives. The papers include personal diaries, proclamations, literary works, announcements, news of the fate of a number of outstanding personalities of the ghetto, anti-Jewish decrees issued by the Nazi authorities, and testimony of Jewish witnesses taken at various proceedings.
