Secretary of State John Foster Dulles today discussed the future relations of the new “United Arab Republic” and the United States in a meeting with Ambassador Ahmed Hussein of Egypt who will serve as UAR envoy.
Dr. Hussein declined to reveal the topics discussed, stating only that they were a number of points of “general interest.”
State Department sources would shed no light on whether the United Arab Republic’s relations with Israel were mentioned at today’s meeting.
