Secretary of State Cordell Hull today assured a Jewish delegation that the United States Government will give immediate consideration to a plan which provides that governments of Nazi-satellite countries be approached to permit their Jews to emigrate.

The plan was submitted to Secretary Hull by a delegation representing the Emergency Committee to Save the Jewish People of Europe. The delegation, led by Dean Alfange, noted leader of the American Labor Party, urged that the U.S. Government take the initiative in creating an official agency of experts charged with the task of rescuing the Jews from Nazi-Europe. The necessity of separating the Jewish problem from the general refugee problem was also emphasized in the appeal which the Jewish delegation made to the Secretary of State.

Secretary Hull assured the delegation that travel priorities as well as diplomatic aid will be extended to representatives to be sent by the Emergency Committee to Turkey, the Middle East and Spain for the purposes of negotiating with neutral governments through whom any emigration of Jews from the satellite countries must be effected.
