Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger is receiving high marks from the American public for his efforts toward peace in the Middle East, according to the results of a Louis Harris poll. His job rating jumped to 63-31% favorable in the wake of the new Israeli-Egyptian accord, Specifically, on the key issue of “working to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East,” Kissinger’s standing rose from 48% positive last May to 61% this month, based on a national cross-section of 1497 adults.
