Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson expressed his regret yesterday at the death of Major General Maurice Rose who was killed on the German front. “The death of General Rose was a severe loss,” Mr. Stims on said. “No one was more skillful in directing the operations of an armored column, he was a leader who inspired enthusiasm and confidence.”
