The widespread presence of security guards at the second World Conference on Soviet Jewry drew criticism today from delegates and newsmen and led Mrs. Golda Meir, honorary president of the conference to ask the guards at her press conference this afternoon to stop disturbing the press meeting,
Some newsmen were prevented by the guards from attending Mrs. Meir’s press conference and other media personnel are regularly asked to make a wide detour on entering or leaving the meeting hall. The sharpest criticism was Leveled at the manner in which Rabbi Meir Kahane. Jewish Defense League founder, was forcibly barred by security men from entering the conference hall earlier in the day.
