The Security Council will meet tomorrow afternoon to discuss the Palestinian question. The meeting was requested by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, which is composed of 23 countries, 19 of which do not have diplomatic relations with Israel. Israel, which has boycotted the Committee and all Security Council meetings called to discuss the Committee’s reports, is considering whether to take part in the Council debate. Observers here said that by calling a Security Council meeting at this time the Arabs and their supporters wanted to inject the Palestinian issue into the Mideast agenda while Egypt and Israel are conducting negotiations on autonomy for the Palestinians.
