An urgent session of the United Nations Security Council will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5 P.M. to deal with a complaint against Israel filed by Lebanon following an airstrikes by Israel yesterday against terrorist bases in the Mount Hermon area, in Lebanese territory. Council President Jaime de Pinies of Spain announced the meeting tonight following receipt of a second communication from Yahya Mahmassani, the Lebanese charge d’affaires asking for the meeting to hear the Lebanese complaint against the “premeditated and unprovoked aggression committed by Israel against civilian villages in southern Lebanon.”
In an earlier communication to the Security Council which did not ask for a meeting, Lebanon charged that an Israeli air fleet of 10 Vulture bombers and six Mirage jet fighters raided six Lebanese villages with napalm bombs, rockets and machine-guns, killing four civilians and wounding three.
