The sum of $50,000 is expected to be raised for the United Palestine Appeal at a luncheon scheduled for April 1 at the Hotel Astor under the auspices of the Brooklyn chapter of Hadassah. A plan successfully carried out by the New York chapter has been adopted. Each woman attending the luncheon will either “give-or-get” $25, which will entitle her to admission. This type of fund-raising for Palestine was inaugurated by Hadassah and has resulted in the raising of substantial sums in various communities.
The principal speaker will be Dr. Nahum Sokolow. Mrs. Adolph Slomka, President of Brooklyn Hadassah, is chairman. The Brooklyn Council of Jewish Women will participate.
