An emergency campaign to provide a thousand scholarships for children in the Jewish religious schools was launched today at a luncheon at the Empire State Club by the Community Council of the Jewish Education Committee of New York. Under the chairmanship of Harry Liebovits, the Community Council, consisting of leaders in business and the professions, has undertaken to raise funds for scholarships for needy children in a ten-day campaign during which each of the workers will seek to get contributions of at least one scholarship a day.
