Seek to Arrange Transit of Polish Refugees Through Reich

Discussions are in progress with Germany to obtain transit through the Reich for Polish refugees emigrating from Lithuania, Premier Markys said in an interview with the Jewish newspaper Die Stimme. He said emigrants were now able to leave for Palestine by way of Odessa under a new transit agreement with the Soviet Government.

A typhoid epidemic in Warsaw was reported by the Lithuanian Telegraphic Agency, which said that 305 cases were registered in one day and 293 of these were Jews. On another day 281 cases, 268 of them Jews, were recorded.
