A delegation representing the Vienna Jewish community called on Dr. Leopold Figl, the Austrian Foreign Minister, today to protest against reported Czech plans to ship arms to the Arab states through Austria. Dr. Emil Maurer, president of the community and head of the delegation, told Dr. Figl that if the Austrian Government granted permission for the arms shipments, it would be violating the principle of neutrality adopted by the Austrian Parliament.
Dr. Figl said he did not know whether the Czechs were asking permission to transport arms through Austria but promised the delegation that he would investigate the situation.
