In view of the dissensions in the Jewish community of Berlin, the board has issued an appeal to all members of the community urging them to help to restore peace and to create an atmosphere which will make it possible for real work to be done for the good of the entire community.

This is a time, the appeal says, in which the German Jew is compelled to wage a hard fight and it is wrong that he should have to dissipate his energies in inner conflicts. The unity of the community must be maintained under all circumstances.

The board of the community, the appeal declares, is determined as speedily as possible to place the administration again on normal lines by means of peaceful and concrete work which will be of service to the entire community, which will assure their rights to each of the religious groupings in the community and will restore to the community peace after the recent turmoil of party passions.

The North Carolina Association of Jewish Women, embodying all the Jewish women’s organizations of the State, held its annual convention at the Hotel Charlotte, at Charlotte, N. C.
