Figures made public here on Palestine exports and imports disclose that exports from Palestine in 1934 reached 3,217,562 pounds sterling, while imports during the same period amounted to 13,132,781 pounds sterling.
Almost twenty-five per cent of the goods imported to Palestine came from England, which occupies first place in the Palestine market. Germany ranks second and the United States third. The figures disclose that German imports to Palestine rose in 1934 to 1,676,000 pounds sterling, as compared with the 1,204,000 pounds sterling in the previous year. The value of the Palestine pound is approximately $4.90.
