A national committee on capital funds will seek to increase the endowment funds of the Jewish Theoglogical Seminary of America so that income from endowment will approximate a quarter of budgetary needs instead of the present 5.5 percent, Alan M. Stroock, chairman of the board of directors of the seminary, announced yesterday at the sixth annual meeting of the National Planning and Campaign Committee of the seminary, the Rabbinical Assembly of America and the United Synagogue of America.
The long-range goal of the committee, which he will head, Mr. Stroock declared, will be an additional $7,092,000 for endowed scholarship funds, $5,000,000 for endowed professor ships, and $3,000,000 for building expansion. Daniel G. Ross, of New York, was re-elected chairman of the planning and campaign committee.
