Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) asked Russian President Boris Yeltsin to clamp down on anti-Semitism. In a letter dated Nov. 30, Moynihan said he wrote “at the request of distinguished New Yorkers of various faiths who are pained by reports of anti-Semitism in Russia.”
