Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) donated about $1,200 to buy protective gear for Jewish settlers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, according to the New York Post newspaper. N.Y. state Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who organized the drive to buy bulletproof vests and protective helmets, praised Clinton’s action as a “clear and powerful statement.”
