Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey (D.Minn.), has introduced a concurrent resolution in the Senate to provide for placement in the U.S. capitol building likenesses of minority group individuals–“Blacks, Mexican Americans, Oriental Jews, and other minorities”–who have made outstanding contributions to the United States. The resolution, which was referred to the Rules Committee, provides for Senate and House leaders to name a nine-member advisory committee to nominate individuals for the honor.
