The immediate easing of present immigration regulations to make possible the admission of relatives of Canadian citizens was asked this week by the Senate Immigration Committee in a brief to the government.
The decision was made after the committee heard B.K. Sandwell and Miss Constance Hayward, of the Canadian Committee on Refugees, who pointed out that the admission of refugees was an immediate and urgent matter. The government was asked to adopt a broad immigration policy without discrimination as to national origins and religious belief.
