The Senate Education and Labor Committee today approved a bill to establish a Permanent Fair Employment Practice Commission. The All will not be brought up on the Senate floor before Congress adjourns within the next day or two, Senator Dennis Chavez, New Mexico Democrat, who introduced the bill, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
A special subcommittee headed by Chavez held hearings on the measure for five days at the end of August and the beginning of September, and passed on a favorable report to the full committee yesterday.
