Following the announcement last week by President Truman that he no longer supports the Wagner-Taft resolution on Palestine, Sen. Wagner today requested the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to postpone action on it for another week.
The resolution, which asks for free immigration of Jews to Palestine and for the establishment there by Jews of a free and democratic commonwealth, is now in the hands of a sub-committee. In asking for postponement of action, Sen. Wagner told the committee that he wants to confer with members of the sub-committee and that such a conference has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday.
