Criticism of the State Department’s “mixture of unbecoming timidity toward the Arabs and thinly-disguised disapproval towards the Jews,” was voiced in the Senate today “by Sen. James Murray of Montana. The Senator declared that the imposition of the embargo on shipment of arms to the Jews in Palestine was a step in the direction of “hindering rather than implementing” the U.N. Partition decision.

Sen. Hurray saluted “the brave American boys of Jewish parentage” who have thrown themselves into the flight in Palestine. He accused the United States Government of “unfriendly demonstrations in carrying out official policies with reference to Palestine.
