A 27-month foreign military and economic assistance bill moved another step forward in the legislative process late yesterday when a Senate-House conference committee approved a $6.8 billion compromise measure. The version reported out by the committee was $2.6 billion less than that approved by the Senate Tuesday. But there was no cut in the $4.2 billion Israel will receive to cover the period July 1, 1975-Sept. 30, 1977, including $550 million for the 1976-77 transitional quarter. The bill is expected to have no trouble gaining adoption by the House and Senate before being sent to President Ford for his signature.
