Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) told pro-Israel activists he is committed to funding the Clinton administration’s request for a $1.8 billion aid package for Israel, the Palestinians and Jordan to implement last year’s Wye agreement. During a lunch Tuesday with representatives of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Lott said he would “do everything within his power to get it funded as soon as possible,” according to the group’s spokesman, Kenneth Bricker.
