A joint resolution providing for the establishment of a bi-partisan commission, similar to the Hoover Commission, to review immigration laws and policy, has been referred to Sen. Pat McCarran’s judiciary committee. The resolution was introduced by Sen. Herbert H. Lehman on behalf of himself and other Senators. It would implement a request contained in the veto message issued by President Truman on the McCarran-Walter omnibus immigration bill.
