Former Senator Herbert H. Lehman and Mrs. Lehman have donated $500,000 to the City of New York for the establishment of a children’s zoo in Central Park, it was reported here today. The gift will mark Mr. and Mrs. Lehman’s 50th wedding anniversary.
The Department of Park said the zoo would be built adjacent to the existing zoo and would include tame animals such as rabbits, ducks, geese, doves, lambs and deer.
