Send Us German Jews, Lebanon Merchants’ Plea

A delegation of notable Lebanese merchants waited upon the head of the local Jewish community, Salim Harrari, with the request that he influence the Jewish Agency to divert part of the Jewish emigration from Germany to Lebanon, according to the report of the Beirut correspondent of the “Doar Hayom”.

“We are in need of the energy and enterprise of these industrious elements in order to restore prosperity to our country”, they pleaded, according to the report.
