Prison sentences were imposed by the Nueraberg court on two anti-Semites, found guilty of having libelled the Jewish religion. Town Councillor Holz was sentenced to three and a half months in prison and Deputy Streicher to two months for having published anti-Jewish libels, based on misquotations from the Talmud, in the anti-Semitic weekly, “Stuermer” of Nuernberg. The suit was brought against the two, members of the Hitler party, by the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith.
The case grew out of two cases of anti-Semites employing the long-exploded ritual murder libel.
