Thousands, including representatives of Jewish national institutions and the Palestine Government, attended funeral services today for Sephardic Chif Jacob Meir, who died here yesterday at the age of 82. All Jewish shops were closed and traffic halted during the funeral. Rabbi Meir was born in Jerusalem and was called to the Chief Rabbinate in 1918.
