For the first time in Seattle Jewish history, a local house of worship played host to members of the Sephardic community when “Sephardic Night” was celebrated at Herzl Synagogue tonight.

Represented at the services were ten Sephardic synagogues and organizations and members of the Sephardic community, third largest in the country. Rabbi Philip A. Langh spoke on “Spanish Jewry: A Glory and a Responsibility.”

Dr. Harry S. Tarica, Sephardic leader, read the Scriptures, and the Ezra Bessaroth Synagogue children’s choir, directed by Samuel Goldfarb, chanted the synagogal music.
