A Purim carnival with Turkish and Persian trappings, Wednesday, evening, February 28, will mark the two hundred and seventy-ninth anniversary of the founding of the Spanish-Portuguese Synagogue, 2 West 70th street. The festival will last from Wednesday evening with the reading of the Megillah and a dinner, and end with a dramatic presentation Sunday evening.
Mrs. Elias A. de Lima, chairman of the committee and Mrs. P. H. Toledano, chairman of the decorations committee, will decorate the rooms of the synagogue in oriental fashion.
