Service Organizations Will Meet in Atlantic City for Convention

Three Jewish social service and educational organizations will meet jointly in a conference at the St. Charles Hotel for four days beginning May 26, according to an announcement from the executives of the groups.

The participating organizations are the National Conference of Jewish Social Service, of which Jacob Billikopf of Philadelphia is president; the National Association of Jewish Center Executives, of which M. H. Chaseman of Albany is president, and the National Council for Jewish Education, of which A. F. Friedland is president.

Delegates from forty-two states and 187 cities in this country and Canada will attend the sessions, which will pay particular attention to social, economic and cultural forces affecting American Jewish life today.

A joint session on Saturday evening will open the conference, and speakers will be the three presidents of the organizations. An informal reception arranged by the Atlantic City Hospitality Committee will follow.

Speakers at the Sunday morning session will include Dr. Isador Lubin, Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics; B. Charney Vladeck, manager of the Daily Forward; David J. Saposs, Brookwood Labor College, Katonah, N. Y.; Dr. Paul Abelson; Dr. N. I. Stone; Professor Morris R. Cohen; and Professor Selig Perlman, of the University of Wisconsin.

Speakers in the afternoon will be Irving Rosen of the New York Y. M. H. A.; Adolph Held of the Amalgamated Bank, New York; Professor Bernhard Ostrolenk, of City College; Gabriel Davidson, of the Jewish Agricultural Society; William Hirsch, of the Mastbaum Loan Service, Philadelphia, and Doris Maddow, Jewish Social Service Association, New York.

Harry L. Glucksman, executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board, will preside at the joint session on Monday. Speakers will include Mary E. Boretz, H. L. Lurie, Dr. Alexander Dushkin, Harry Greenstein, Hyman P. Gumnit, Alice F. Liveright, Lottee Marcuse, Sonia Penn, Samuel S. Solender, Philip Geliebter, Rabbi Israel Levinthal, Mrs. Mary G. Schonberg, Dr. John Slawson and Dr. Maurice Taylor.

Among the speakers at the Tuesday session will be Abraham Epstein, Francis Bardwell, Mrs. William G. Lewi, Dr. Ernest P. Boas, and Dr. I. M. Rubinow.
