Leaders in the Brooklyn community, including members of the board of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, attended the funeral Friday morning of Dr. Abraham Posner, 70, who died Wednesday.
One of his last acts was to contribute to the Federation’s current campaign. Dr. Posner war formerly a member of the board of the Federation.
The services were held at the Brooklyn Hebrew Home and Hospital for the Aged, 813 Howard Avenue. Interment was in Acacia Cemetery, Richmond Hill, L. I.
Dr. Posner was president of Dr. A. Posner Shoes, Inc., which he founded forty-eight years ago. Born in Russia, May 15, 1865, he emigrated at an early age to England where he was educated and later married Miss Rebecca Nevins, who survives him. In 1885 he came to the United States where he practiced podiatry.
Mr. ### was a member of Palestine ### 204. F. & A. M., and the ### Club ###. 22 in Brooklyn.
Surviving him, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Sadie M. Joseph, Mrs. Irene F. Leibler, and a son, Herbert.
