Seven Palestinians were arrested for assaulting Egypt’s foreign minister in Jerusalem. An Israeli police spokesman said the arrests took place hours after Ahmed Maher was pelted with shoes and abuse by worshippers at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday. Maher, 68, was treated for chest pains before departing for Egypt, ending a visit to Israel that aimed to jump-start the peace process.
