Seventy-five leading Latin American intellectuals adopted unanimously a resolution denouncing the Soviet Union’s discriminatory policies against its Jewish citizens. The Conference of Intellectuals on the Jewish Minority in the USSR, meeting here earlier this month, also called upon the Soviet Union to permit Jews to emigrate to Israel or any other country of their choice. Among those attending were five former Cabinet ministers of various countries and intellectuals from 17 Latin American nations including 35 from Peru. Dr. Mauricio San Martin. Honorary Rector of the Universidad Mayor Nacional de San Marcos in Lima, was elected presiding officer of the Conference.
