Several Jewish philanthropists — including Michael Steinhardt’s Jewish Life Network and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation — provided a total of $175,000 in seed money to raise awareness of the needs for Jewish early childhood education. The Baltimore-based Jewish Early Childhood Education Partnership will advocate for North American Jewish pre-school programs, which are thought to shape Jewish identity but face severe shortages of staff and funds.
