That several thousand Jews of Latvia are now landowners was made known today by minister of agriculture Gulbis in connection with Latvia’s celebration of the tenth anniversary of its agrarian reform. M. Gulbis pointed out that hundreds of Jews who participated in Latvia’s war of liberation received state lands. The Jews who held land as tenants before the War became its full owners, the minister said. These Jewish landowners now have a special representative on the government’s land distribution committee.
