Several thousand members of the Peace Now movement formed a circle around the Prime Minister’s Office Tuesday carrying posters demanding that Premier Menachem Begin “either compromise or resign.” The demonstration ended with a rally outside the Knesset building where a petition was read supporting the aims of the Peace Now movement. The petition, bearing 130,000 signatures, will be sent to Begin. Meanwhile, another peace demonstrator, Abie Nathan, ended his hunger strike today 46 days after he began it, the longest hunger strike today 46 days after he began it, the longest hunger strike on record in Israel. He did so, he said, in compliance with an appeal by the Knesset.
