Several Torah scrolls were stolen recently from synagogues throughout the country, especially in Jerusalem, it was reported. Five scrolls were stolen last week from a synagogue in the Neve Yaacov neighborhood in Jerusalem, worth some IL 320,000. Two of the scrolls were found torn near a village in the Rehovot region. Jerusalem synagogues are installing special locks and alarm systems to prevent further thefts.
