Jewish worship pers at the Western Wall of the Temple must stand while praying and cannot be seated after their prayers, if the will of the Moslem Supreme Council is to prevail.
A representative of the Moslem Supreme Council, the body which is principally responsible for the present controversy between the Arabs and the Jews over the Wailing Wall right of access, has informed the sexton incharge of arrangements of the congregation of worshippers at the Wall, that no chairs of any size should be placed in front of the Wall for the comfort of the worshippers.
The placing of such chairs would be viewed as an infringement of the rights of the Moslem Supreme Council. The sexton refered the matter to the Jerusalem police.
