“The Jews of the Union of South Africa are greatly interested in the development of the health work of the OSE in Israel and will continue to support this endeavor within the means at their disposal,” Abel Shaban, South African Jewish leader, reported to the executive board of the American OSE at a dinner tendered in his honor last night.
Analyzing the campaign efforts among Jews in South American countries which he visited recently, Mr. Shaban criticized the way in which campaign funds are distributed among the international Jewish relief agencies and demanded a radical change in the system of distribution.
