Premier Moshe Sharett appealed to General Zionist ministers to “cease fire” at a cabinet meeting today, at least for the next few months, in order to prevent disorganization of the Cabinet’s work. His appeal followed mutual accusations about Cabinet members creating a pre-election atmosphere at public meetings.
Pointing out that the next Knesset elections are still ten months away, the Premier asked that the ministers refrain from making any public statements that might undermine the Cabinet’s unity.
