Mr. Sharett, who will leave by air today for Tel Aviv, said that Secretary Acheson made only a “very general reference” to the Jerusalem situation.

Meanwhile, Moshe Keren, consellor of the Israel Embassy, called on George C. McGhee, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, with Miss Esther Herlitz, newly-appointed First Secretary of the Embassy. The former head of the North American Section of the Israel Foreign Ministry, she replaces Arthur C.A. Liverhant, who served here as a First Secretary for some time. Mr. Liverhant is returning to Israel.
