A call for increased contributions from Jewish communities abroad to enable Israel to absorb the new waves of immigrants from Rumania and other East European countries was issued here today by Moshe Sharett, former Israel Premier and Foreign Minister, upon his arrival from Paris, He will make a goodwill tour among the major Jewish communities in Scandinavia.
Mr. Sharett also stressed the need for increased private investments in Israel. He emphasized that such investment will help in the industrial development of the country, upon which the Israel Government is now beginning to concentrate, and will thus provide employment for many of the newcomers.
