Premier Moshe Sharett continued discussions today with leaders of the Progressive Party in an attempt to obtain their participation in his coalition government. He met with Israel Rokach, the Minister of the Interior, who is a General Zionist leader, and Dr. Pinhas Rosen, Progressive leader, to work out a formula acceptable to all parties in the coalition.
The Progressives, members of the former Ben Gurion coalition, had refused to join the new coalition because of the inter-party agreement on legislation restricting Knesset representation to parties obtaining at least 4.2 percent of the total vote in a national election.
